Sports Ashiatsu
In China, beginning in 1950 and up to this day, there have been studies to analyze and develop specific Ashiatsu techniques for the athletes. These methods are called “Sports Ashiatsu” and they have been invented and designed for two precise purposes.
First, most professional athletes experiment chronic strains and pains in their muscles, joints, tendons and ligaments. Sports Ashiatsu has proven that it can help to prime the telangiectasia (Small dilated blood vessels near the surface of the skin or mucous membranes measuring between 0.5 and 1.0 millimeter in diameter.) to get larger and thus accelerate the blood flux and enhance the blood circulation to promote the natural repair process of the injured parts.
Second, it has been determined that Ashiatsu can foster the reduction of excessive emotional and physical tensions.
Athletes are constantly under emotional and physical pressure. Before their performances most of them present a typical clinical picture of increased blood pressure and nagging insomnia problems. They often become easily depressed and restless.
Because it is a deep tissue massage, Ashiatsu can effectively incite athletes to naturally produce endorphins that help them to relax; feel better and reach an optimal global shape by improving their sleep quality.
