What is a Zen body?
Like traditional Chinese Shiatsu, Zen Ashiatsu is mainly based on the general Chinese traditional medicine theory. Not only the Acupuncture meridians and trigger points concept, but also the spirit and the essence of that global foundation.
In contrast with the “body parts and systems” of the Western medicine theory, the basic principle of Chinese traditional medicine is a “holistic” approach in which all of the various organs, joints, organizations; in fact, all parts of the human body are being treated as a whole. By doing that, we can see a special kind of energy that goes throughout the whole body; in Chinese, we call it “Qi”.
In the Chinese language, we have a saying, “The bolt on the door never grows worms; the running water never gets rotten.” In Zen Ashiatsu, deep tissue massage helps to clear the meridians and the trigger points and make the Qi and blood run through your whole body more easily like water running freely. This is the right way to achieve the balance of Yin and Yang in your body.
A naturally balanced Yin and Yang is the very definition of a Zen body.
